x402 is an open protocol by Coinbase that enables machine-to-machine payments over HTTP. Here's what happens on every request:
Your agent sends a normal HTTP request to the API endpoint. No special headers needed on the first call.
Server returns HTTP 402 with payment details: amount, token, recipient address, and network.
The x402 client signs a USDC payment on Base L2, attaches it as a header, and resends. API delivers the result.
